This shirt is made in China and it 70% cotton and 30% flax. I didn't find it scratchy to touch or heavy and it softened up and relaxed it's stiff wrinkles when I dampened it and threw it in the dryer for a few minutes with some clean, damp dish towels. I ordered one size up, as I usually do with clothing made in China and the XL fit is perfect for me. I am 5"9" and 160lbs. I carry weight in my hips and it still skims my hips when buttoned and looks great open with a shirt underneath as well. I ordered the white and, while there is a small element of sheerness, I didn't find it overly sheer and couldn't see my nude bra, or my tummy roll (haha), thru the material. There is a button partway up each sleeve and an interior tab of material so you can roll the sleeves up. If you don't like that look, just remove the button and roll them up for a different look. If you look closely, there is a darker white sort of thread or pattern to the white material. I don't find that to be a negative and I feel it looks like a very nice linen shirt without the high price tag. I have been watching 2022 spring capsule wardrobe videos and this is a great piece at a great price.

Update: When I came across my review months later, I noticed certain words were removed from my review, such as “not”, “doesn’t”, etc. I have edited it to read as I originally submitted.
The reviews were singing the praises, but I was not impressed. The buttons are not placed well, either buttons up to high, or unbutton and show your bra. It wasn’t what I would call roomy, felt a little tight, but sleeves were extra long on my long arms. The fabric is stiff and does not hang as shown in photos. Feels like it will shrink when washed and already a little short to cover my booty.

This is me at 5' 8 1/2" tall (135 lbs) in a size medium. I have several shirts that have no give to the material, so I am used to tucking them in to my high waisted pants, but there was Just So Much fabric around my middle, I couldn't quite get by it. Also, and this is mainly a problem because I'm tall with a long torso, but the sides come up too high, and when tucked in, there is a gap on each side where there's no fabric. So, those two things made me return this. Perhaps a small would've been better.

Changing my review. I washed this shirt only once & it was in cold water, then hung it to dry because it is cotton/flax. The arms are now too short, fits more like a medium shirt, definitely not a loose fit like the pic now. The length ... let's just say, I bought this to wear with leggings & that's not happening now. Maybe it will be long enough for my 5'-4" friend. I was happyish until a cold, gently wash happened & it shrunk way bad
I read the size chart, then ordered a size larger. I should have ordered 2 sixes larger for a looser fit, like the pic. I am keeping it anyhow as I will wear it. I have long arms and the sleeves fit me great. I wish the body length was a little longer, but as I said, I will wear this shirt. Not really see through. There is NO stretch. According to the label it is 70% cotton, 30% flax. It came very wrinkled, but that's from moving around in the bag during shipping. It's an easy fix with some water or steam. The style is not starched flat anyhow.

I had to return it, but at least, the vendor provides a full refund.

Not soft or comfortable, seems stiff, and I’m not sure what would make it better. The fabric in the photo looks gauzy and maybe even silky, but it’s definitely not that way out of the bag. There is no sheen, I can’t see a pronounced strip of fabric for the buttons like in the (blurry on purpose?) picture. Short fit, even though I am short.
